IT Support Assistant

The Role – IT Support Assistant

This is a key role working as part of our professional IT team to provide effective and efficient IT systems and user desktop support.

As an IT Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide effective and efficient IT systems and user desktop support by following procedures, asking relevant questions, troubleshooting, and escalating where necessary
  • Accurately log, manage, and update jobs on the IT helpdesk, ensuring that SLAs are met
  • Take ownership of IT jobs within the IT helpdesk, using initiative, skills, and knowledge to deal with jobs proactively and follow through to closure
  • Ensure users’ systems are setup correctly and escalate to IT Analysts if required
  • Provide user training and new user on-boarding, demonstrating excellent customer service skills at all times
  • Maintain the IT asset management system

The Package – IT Support Assistant

  • Permanent contract
  • 40 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday between 8am - 7pm and 1 in 3 weekends/bank holidays as rostered (time off in lieu will be provided)
  • 33 days annual leave
  • Salary of £21,128.39
  • Staff pass so you can visit the zoo during your time off, plus a number of complimentary tickets for your family and friends

Our Requirements – IT Support Assistant

  • Microsoft systems support experience
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, a desire to learn and improve processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, evidencing good attention to detail
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills: professional and helpful with the ability to convey information in a user-friendly format
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and an understanding of data protection

Although not essential, a relevant degree and an understanding of networking would be advantageous.
