We are Chester Zoo

We’re not just an amazing, award-winning visitor attraction that’s home to 20,000 incredible animals inside 128 acres of stunning gardens. We’re not just the UK’s most popular zoo. We’re a major wildlife charity that’s committed to the recovery of endangered species, globally. And, as the world faces an extinction crisis, we’re making a hugely significant contribution to conservation at a time when it’s needed most. We are Chester Zoo and we prevent extinction.

The Role – Marketing Manager

We now have an exciting new role for an outstanding Marketing Manager to join our team for a period of maternity cover. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll play a key role in developing informed, innovative, and consistent marketing campaigns which connect our audience to the Chester Zoo brand.

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Plan, implement and evaluate marketing campaigns, using digital and traditional media and other tools, to achieve visitor and financial targets and to promote a range of commercial and engagement opportunities
  • Lead and develop our Marketing team, deputising for the Head of Marketing as required
  • Manage the marketing budgets in order to ensure the best ROI for any money spent on achieving organisational objectives
  • Support the Head of Marketing in providing market research intelligence, including benchmarking, which will be used to inform marketing and organisational and commercial decision making
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of the Chester Zoo brand identity, both onsite and offsite, to enhance our reputation as a world class visitor attraction and conservation charity
  • Determine the creative approach and choice of media to develop a robust and innovative marketing mix, managing agencies to deliver campaign elements where required, ensuring a high quality service, value for money and adherence to the brand guidelines and within agreed budget

We have ambitious goals, and we want you to be with us on our exciting journey.
