The Role – Seasonal Travel Trade Assistant

The Travel Trade department is responsible for generating income and surplus for Chester Zoo through maximising admission and secondary spend opportunities for coach tour operators, groups, and ticket agents.

Working closely with the Travel Trade Officer, the Seasonal Travel Trade Assistant will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, engaging with customers via phone, email, post and face-to-face. They will complete administrative tasks within the team, including booking, processing, and taking payments for our tour operators and large group visits.

The Package

  • Seasonal contract, working until 25th September 2022
  • 16 hours per week, with the option to work flexibly, Monday to Sunday. Weekend and bank holiday work will be required on occasion
  • Earning £9.50 per hour
  • 33 days annual leave (pro rata)
  • Staff pass so you can visit the zoo during your time off, plus multiple complimentary tickets for your friends and family

Our Requirements – Seasonal Travel Trade Assistant

  • Experience in completing administrative duties, ideally in a sales / customer experience environment
  • Excellent customer service skills, ideally gained within a customer focused business
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive
  • Good organisational capability
  • Numerate and literate to undertake duties
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Cash handling experience

Although not essential, experience working with a bookings system would also be an advantage.
