Part Time Marketing Manager (Campaigns and Promotions)

Permanent contract, working 20 hours per week over 3 or 4 days.

Next year, Twycross Zoo will celebrate it’s 60th Anniversary since opening to the public in 1963 in the heart of England in Atherstone. Now an award-winning conservation and science-led zoo, and a registered charity, The East Midland Zoological Society welcome over half a million people every year.

We are home to hundreds of animals, including one of the largest chimpanzee families in the UK! We’re the only zoo in the UK to house all four great apes and we care for many other endangered species to the highest welfare standards, including Eastern black rhino, Sumatran tigers, Amur leopards and snow leopards.

The Role – Marketing Manager (Campaigns and Promotions)

Reporting to the Marketing Director, as a Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing, driving, and delivering campaigns for key trading periods, seasonal activity, membership activation and re-attendance and secondary spend initiatives, ensuring these campaigns are on brand and within budget. Your duties will include:

  • Working with the Marketing Director to develop the annual marketing activity plan, and leading the delivery of all campaigns and promotions
  • Managing the production of Twycross Zoo television and radio commercials
  • Managing the Inhouse Designer, setting clear objectives and priorities, and carrying out weekly 121s
  • Reviewing and developing promotional offers to support the annual plan
  • Managing the expenditure budget for marketing lines related to campaigns, including tracking spend and monthly reconciliation
  • Tracking and reviewing visitor and revenue performance against budget and adjust proposed actions and marketing approaches to help mitigate any risk to budget
  • Collaborating with the Marketing Manager (Digital) and Marketing Manager (Brand, PR and Events) to ensure major campaigns hit all business and communications objectives
  • Working with the Sales Manager to develop ongoing activity and campaigns specifically to aid the recovery of schools business, corporate business and experiences post covid and beyond
  • Managing the campaign channel management for partnerships and affiliates
  • Analysing customer data and presenting insights and analysis to shape future activity
  • Briefing and managing agency requirements
  • Manage agency relationships, conducting regular updates with all agencies and reporting on pre-agreed KPIs internally

Our Requirements – Marketing Manager (Campaigns and Promotions)

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced marketing management role, working with above the line advertising and monitoring its effectiveness
  • Experience managing a variety of marketing agencies and driving strong outputs
  • A strong commercial grounding and passionate about making decisions that are driven by data and insight
  • Good understanding of media buying and the modern media landscape
  • Ability to manage, motivate and develop team members
  • Innovative and creative with a proactive, problem-solving approach
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Although not essential, experience in the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality industry would be highly advantageous.

You will be employed on a permanent contract, working 20 hours per week split over 3 or 4 days.
