Summer Customer Service / Visitor Experience Assistant

Multiple summer contracts available, with the potential for some contracts to become permanent.

Are you available to join our team this summer? We are looking for flexible candidates who are able to work up to 5 days a week and will include some weekend work. Hours will vary between 8am and 6pm from the 11th of July to the 4th of September 2022?

Our Organisation

East Midland Zoological Society has been running Twycross Zoo for almost 60 years in the heart of England. Twycross Zoo is an award-winning conservation and science-led zoo. We are rapidly growing, and pre-Covid, were welcoming over 600,000 people every year to our 100-acre rural site near Atherstone.

The Role – Customer Service / Visitor Experience Assistant

As a Visitor Experience Assistant, you’ll provide an engaging and informative experience for all visitors, and ensure they always receive a high standard of customer service. Your duties will vary depending on the role allocated but may include:

  • Carrying out tasks across the commercial operation including the admission pay booths, soft play, and stewarding the car parks
  • Working within our new Gruffalo discovery area
  • Offering information and directions to visitors on the venue and its products, including memberships, adoptions, events and offers
  • Ensuring excellent park presentation including cleaning, waste management, and litter picking
  • Achieving targets set by the business, including gift aid and upselling
  • Cash handling, operating a till accurately and efficiently and adhering to cash procedures

There may also be opportunities to undertake first aid training and eventually become part of the Zoo’s on-call first aid duty rota.

Our Requirements

  • Access to some form of private transport is essential as local public transport timetables are not fitting with hours of work
  • A friendly and enthusiastic attitude with a passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • A flexible approach to tasks and hours
  • Punctual, reliable, and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team and unsupervised
